F O R M U S I C S C H E D U L E C L I C K: THIS WEEK AT THE FIFE
WHO WE ARE | On January 20, 1973, renowned pianist Dolph Traymon and his wife Audrey opened the Fife 'n Drum Restaurant doors for dinner, and never looked back. In 1982, they subsequently established their Inn and Gift Shop. Today, the Fife 'n Drum is Kent's award-winning landmark restaurant. Today, the Traymons, along with daughter Elissa Traymon Potts, continue to maintain their personal commitment to fine food, good music and attentive hospitality, as they move into their 43nd year of operation.
WHERE WE ARE | The Fife, as it is commonly known, is centrally located ~ right on Rt 7, across from the Kent Green and just north of the Railroad tracks.. To the west, we are bordered by the Housatonic Railroad. At present, it operates as a freight line only. The train usually runs one morning and early evening round trip Monday to Friday. Just to the west of the tracks farmer Tim Williams operates the small farm there, complete with cows and goats. As you continue west, you will come to both the Housatonic River, a "Blue Ribbon River" and the Appalachian Trail. To this day, there is still only one stoplight in the town. And yes, all of this is located in the heart of the charming Litchfield Hills.
WHAT WE OFFER | The Fife's Award-winning Wine List is 1 of 7 restaurants in the state of Connecticut to be awarded the 2016 Best of Award of Excellence from the Wine Spectator Magazine. Our seasoned staff make the Fife 'n Drum a memorable destination to either grab a quick bite, mark a special occasion or celebrate a romantic evening. We also provide music entertainment for a more intimate experience for our diners and guests. Our menu selections are viewable on the website.
OUR LODGINGS | The rooms are charming and very comfortable. We are within walking distance to the town, as well the the Kent School. After a nice and relaxing meal, you can make your way to one of our rooms for an overnight stay. We have thirteen rooms to choose from. Please call for availability.
